Koroit Art Gallery

The owners of the Koroit Country Bakehouse have built a second storey above the existing bakery and cafe to accommodate the gallery.

The gallery showcases art from many and varied styles. David and Helen Francis, proprietors of the bakery come art gallery, stated that the idea of the art gallery was part of a strategy developed to link their business with Tower Hill and enhance an already productive partnership with one of the bodies that manage Tower Hill, the Worn Gundidj Co-op.

It is hoped the partnership with Worn Gundidj will mean that showing of indigenous art will be a feature of the gallery. The gallery proprietors also expect contemporary and heritage art to play a major role.

The gallery will accommodate a different exhibition each month, meaning there will be 12 different exhibitions throughout the year. "Our aim is to be recognised as a genuine Art Gallery and the quality of work put on show would reflect this," David said.

Given the continually changing exhibits, the gallery expects that return visits will become the norm for art enthusiasts throughout the district.

The gallery is open 10am – 4pm 7 days a week although extra viewing times can be organised by prior arrangement.
